Value-Directed Memory and Processing

How does reward or punishment influence the memorability of information?  We are investigating the effect of using an incentivized cue (i.e. points) to direct memory in working memory and the subsequent long-term memory effects of incentives given during the working memory task.  We are examining the effects of providing reward or punishment during various points during the memory process in order to better understand the ways in which external feedback modulate memory strength.
